For the second year in a row it was Berkshire Stags who were most successful in BCEW’s Development League end of season awards. The Stags won 4 awards with Dorset & Staffordshire taking home 2 each and one a piece for roses rivals Lancashire & Yorkshire.
Thomas Froud retained Partially Sighted Player of the Year and doubled up with Partially Sighted Fielder of the Year too. Sam Hoskin claimed Total Player of the Year to add to Stags success with Rob Turner winning Partially Sighted Batter of the Year.
Staffordshire’s best season ever included Mike Harrison winning Low Partial Player of the Year for his excellent season with the bat & Carl Galloway claiming Total Bowler of the Year for his first BCEW award.
Another first time winner was Barnaby Williams of Dorset who was named Most Promising Player of the Year, his teammate Robert Sholto-Douglas-Vernon was the clear winner of Total Fielder of the Year.
Lois Turner was the second female player in as many years to win a development level bowling award, in her case it was Partially Sighted Bowler of the Year, whilst Lancashire’s development league captain Shoaib Nazir won Total Batter of the Year.
