This privacy notice explains how your personal data will be used and protected and your legal rights in respect of it. BCEW deliver competitive recreational cricket in the UK for those who are blind or partially sighted, running national and international competitions.
We are the data controller for the purposes of data protection law and can be contacted as follows:

We may process the following categories of personal data:
- Name and any ‘known as’ name; date of birth; gender;
- Contact details – e.g. address, telephone number, email address;
- Role at club or team, and club / team / competition played for; Cricket skills and experience ;
- Details of any consents given or withheld;
- Conduct offences; Breaches of the blind cricket regulations or any ECB disciplinary and anti discrimination codes; Actions and decisions taken; Information in match officials reports; Sanctions and penalties imposed.
We can obtain personal data from:
The individual, any team captain, umpire, scorer and other match officials, team coaches and team management teams, Other participants, witnesses, spectators, complainants, the BCEW disciplinary process and the ECB.
We do NOT make any automated decisions about you.
We keep records of your personal data so that we can:
- Ensure compliance with ECB regulations and policies
- Ensure fair administration of disciplinary processes
- Carry out required safeguarding of all participants in our cricket
- Keep records and maintain statistics
- Monitor diversity and compliance and provide equal opportunities
The legal basis for our processing of your personal data is the legitimate interest of BCEW in running our competitions and keeping cricket statistics.
We share your personal data with the ECB, and on a limited basis mainly around statistics with other cricket clubs that participate in BCEW cricket to meet their legitimate interests in delivering cricket in the UK for blind or partially sighted players.
We will only process your personal data in the UK. We will retain your personal data while you remain an active member of BCEW; cricket statistics only will be retained after active membership ends.
You have the right of access to your personal data and, in some cases, to require us to restrict, erase or rectify it or to object to our processing it, and the right of data portability.
