After winning both national level blind cricket cup competitions for the first time in 2021 Northants Steelbacks have been handed a vicious draw as they attempt to defend both trophies.

In the former BBS Cup Northants travel to Cheshire Cobras in the quarter final with the winner set to host either last seasons BBS Cup runners up Metro or 2021’s Twenty20 Cup runners up Somerset in the semi finals, it’s fair to say that everyone in this absolutely lethal half of the draw will be cursing their luck.
In the other half of the draw Sussex Sharks look like the team to beat, after losing to Northants in the semi finals of both cups in 2021 the reigning National League Division Two Champions have a home quarter final v Kent Spitfires, with the winners of that one again at home in the semi finals against the winner of the roses clash between Yorkshire Vikings & Lancashire Lions.
BCEW David Townley Memorial Twenty20 Cup
In this competition Northants start their title defence against reigning BCEW National League Champions Metro, between them these teams swept up all of the big trophies in 2021, but one won’t reach the semi finals of the T20 cup in 2022.
2021’s T20 Cup runners up Somerset VICC travel to Surrey VICC in the quarter finals of this seasons tournament, whilst Sussex & Kent are handed long journeys for their quarter finals, the Sharks are away to Yorkshire Vikings whilst the Spitfires travel to Lancashire Lions.
BCEW Southern Regional Twenty20 Cup
2021 runners up Dorset Dolphins face Hampshire VICC in the semi finals after both received quarter final byes.
Last seasons winners Surrey VICC start their attempt to retain the cup with a home quarter final v Metro Devils, the winner of that heavyweight clash has it little easier in the semi finals as they’ll host the winner of the Gloucestershire Growlers v Berkshire Stags quarter final.
