Gav enjoyed a 35 year playing career & over that time he was consistently one of the best totally blind players in the game.
Gav was named Total Player of the Year twice, Total Batter of the Year once & Total Bowler of the Year once, he would have won far more awards had end of season awards existed during the first twenty years he played.
Gav started out at New College Worcester before going on to play for White Rose, Birmingham Sports, Warwickshire Bears, Sussex Sharks & Northants Steelbacks. At the time of his Hall of Fame induction he was the only player to have won the National Level treble (League, Primary Club Cup & Twenty20 Cup) with three different clubs, Warwickshire, Sussex & Northants.
Gav, along with Alan Humphries, transformed Birmingham into a National League winning side and that side was the basis of the Warwickshire team which Gav captained to numerous trophies.
Gav had a very high bowling action & got more bounce than any other bowler in the modern era whilst he was a powerful batsman, when he hit it it stayed hit. He was also a spectacularly good catcher grabbing some stunning takes amongst a regular supply of catches each season.
Gav was also a member of the first England Blind Cricket team as well as playing Blind Football & VI Tennis at international level.
